Another Ford Controversy
Greetings, dear readers. I'm sorry; I didn't plan to weigh in on the latest Ford controversy about whether or not the Senate Candidate has some Caucasian blood flowing through his veins, but I find that I have to. One only has to look at his green eyes and vanilla with spice colored skin to know that a Caucasian waded into the Ford gene pool.
Looks like Harold Ford, Jr. steps in it again. This time, he's pimping his own grandmother, the late Vera Ford. This is beyond the pale...and as my late father and stepfather would say, "Lower than whale sh--"
I posted a longer entry over on the Pesky Fly, so have at it. And, for you Harold Ford fans, before you flame, do yourself and the rest of us in the blogsphere a favor; look at the fact before you actually decide to blindly support Harold, regardless of what he says and does. Would you blindly support a serial child molester the same way?
An excerpt from the Pesky Fly:
He won't catch a break from African-American voters that he needs at nearly 100% turnout to balance the White votes he doesn't get, because in going to great lengths to make it known he has a white grandmother, Ford just alienated African-American voters because they may believe that he finds something so negative in being African-American, that he's ashamed of being African-American. Why should we vote for an African-American who's ashamed of his ethnicity? You know how African-Americans diss Clarence Thomas, and he didn't even run for office! By appearing to be ashamed of being African-American, how can Harold Ford aspire to lead other African-Americans? In order to lead us, you need to have a love for us. Claiming a white grandmother and distancing yourself from being African-American doesn't indicate you have a love for African-Americans, and if you say it does, PROVE IT.
The next installment will probably be: "DEAR HAROLD: HAVE YOU NO SHAME?"

Well, here's the problem with your theory on African-American voters abandoning Ford. Nearly every black person who has heard of him knows about the Ford family's white member. If that hasn't stopped them from voting for the Fords en masse previously, why do you expect it to do so now?
Don't you think, that just perhaps your assumptions are a wee bit racist?
