Congratulations to Donna Edwards in MD-04. Fat Albert Wynn will now be unemployed as of January 20, 2009, when Ms. Edwards takes her seat as the Freshman Congresswoman from Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties. Makes a Political Junkie like me very proud to have had a hand in Mr. Wynn's exit from Capitol Hill.
Second, there is no reason why Hillary Clinton should be demanding that MSNBC's David Shuster and Keith Olbermann apologize for the "pimping" comment he made about Chelsea Clinton, when no one called out Andrew Cuomo on his "shuck and jive" comment regarding Barack Obama. Obama, who has swept the Chesapeake Primary and has the Borg Queen reeling this icy morning.
And, the Rude Pundit agrees with me. Particularly with this comment:
That means that she leapt at Shuster's remark as a way of keeping sympathy for her and her family in the news, a distraction from Obama's primary/caucus sweep this weekend. She used this Chelsea situation as a way to kick start some desperately needed fundraising.
And that, motherfuckers, is pretty much the definition of pimping.

Excuse me CPL - I saw your post on another blog and I followed you over to your home turf.
I have a question for you. You celebrated the demise of Albert Wynn but I wonder exactly how you can support his replacement?
Indeed you are a self proclaimed Progressive/Liberal as is Donna Edwards. Donna Edwards seems to be pro-illegal immigration and anti-business. How exactly is this going to benefit the Black community? (I am making the assumption that you are Black).
Indeed you are a Barack Obama supporter. At the same time he has not made a coherent message on illegal immigration. Indeed more Black people have been displaced from jobs due to immigration than due to NAFTA. With Obama and Edwards in office more loses are sure to be had by our community.
For so long the left has been able to hide behind the more conservative people in America and label them as "racists" for taking a more vocal stand against illegal immigration. This has occurred all the while the Black community bore the disproportionate brunt of the losses.
It seems that Mr. Obama likes to tell his supporters what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear. Unfortunately on this illegal immigration debate he has run out of scapegoats. While he is quite comfortable at blaming the "big corporations" against the Black community that supports him so vociferously (well at least some of us - not me) cheers to such empty promises of CHANGE.
Another question while we are at it - As I look at the 80% Democratic cities where our people live are there only DLC members running them? (Philly, Baltimore, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Newark, Camden, DC) When do the straight line Democrats take the blame for their current governorship over our community? They run our schools, our police forces and the zoning committees on city council that set the stage for businesses to come in to the community.
